The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks -- film discussion
February 23, 2022, 7 PM
Without Henrietta Lacks, we wouldn’t have the polio vaccine or more information on cancer, viruses, or advances in vitro fertilization and gene mapping. Lacks’, a poor black farmer, had her cells taken by scientists without her knowledge. Join us as we discuss the ground-breaking book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and the HBO film of the same name. You do not need to have read the book or seen the film to attend.
The first 25 people who register for either program receive free copies of the book and DVD--we will contact you to set up a date and time for pick up.
